Cathy, a clinical psychologist and mother of two, specializes in supporting children and families, particularly in the Latinx community. She is excited to join Familias Latinas to contribute to the community's well-being.

Israel, originally from Guatemala City, moved to Albany four years ago with his family. He is the father of two young children, Rosita and Maya, and is dedicated to strengthening Albany's Latinx community, addressing their concerns, and increasing their visibility.

Randolph Martinez, of Nicaraguan heritage is a father of four children attending different Albany schools. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with degrees in Social and Behavioral Sciences and Business Administration. Currently working for Bank of America, he joined Familias Latinas de Albany to give back to the Latino community and support a brighter future for children.

Grecia, a policy analyst specializing in criminal justice reform, is a parent of a toddler and a high schooler at AHS. Originally from San Jose, CA, she moved to Albany to pursue her BA in Political Science and a master’s in educational policy at UC Berkeley. Passionate about culturally relevant education, she is excited to support students and families as part of Familias Latinas de Albany.

Katy Vigil-McClanahan, born in the Bay Area, is a parent to two children at Albany Middle and Cornell Elementary. Her family moved to Albany seeking a walkable and transit-friendly community. With a background in horticulture and education, and experience running a small farm, she now serves on the City of Albany Climate Action Committee. As a heritage Spanish learner, she is committed to supporting Familias Latinas in promoting equity for Chicano/a and Latine students in the district.

Barbie Espino, originally from Orange County, CA, is a mother of three and the daughter of Mexican immigrants. An educator and certified paralegal pursuing a master's in Criminal Justice at USC, she plans to continue into a doctoral program in Education. Passionate about supporting Latine students and families, she joined Familias Latinas to advocate for equity and well-being while fostering inclusion and collaboration within the AUSD community.
